Toronto hip-hop artist Masia One headlines an extensive roster of fellow urban-music artists of Far-East Asian origin, entitled “Beats From The East : The Concert”.
Never-before has such a live event been held in Montreal and Beats From The East : The Concert aims to make history at the McGill University Shatner Ballroom, on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 7:30pm.
Presented by CJLO Radio-Host DJ Mister Vee, Swag Prod, and the McGill Chinese Students Society, this non-profit showcase seeks to promote culture, arts, and entertainment, while breaking down outdated Asian-stereotypes one performance at a time.
Also scheduled to perform are some big names from the Asian-American music industry, all of whom are making their very first concert-appearances in Canada :
-Magnetic North (hip-hop)
-Taiyo Na (hip-hop, RnB, soul)
-and Jay Legaspi (acoustic-soul)
The Montreal scene is also well represented with:
-Universal Music recording-artist Vinnie (electro, hip-hop, RnB)
-Young Avz (electro, hip-hop)
-ILL Mestizo (hip-hop), Buddachild (hip-hop),
-and the Covenant Award-winning singer/songwriter Jason Ray (RnB, gospel).
In addition, this groundbreaking event will be co-hosted by TL Truong, of the Blueprint Cru (co-finalists of the fifth-season of America’s Best Dance crew),
All ages are welcome and children should be accompanied by an adult.
The Shatner Ballroom is located on the third floor of the McGill University Centre, at 3480 McTavish Street, in downtown Montreal.
